'Andy Griffith Show' star Maggie Peterson died in her sleep
The actress was 81 years old.
TV star Maggie Peterson, who viewers remembered well from the TV series The Andy Griffith Show, passed away at the age of 81. Her niece Amy Royer confirmed on her social media accounts that Peterson died in her sleep Sunday afternoon.
Peterson was 81 years old, her health had deteriorated severely in recent years after the death of her jazz musician husband, Gus Mancuso, in December.
"Maggie’s health took a turn for the worse after the death of her husband Gus and we are relieved that we were able to move her home to be close to family for her last days," Amy Royer said to NYP.
