Anne Robinson left Countdown due to conflict with co-host
The former Weakest Link host Anne Robinson is leaving Countdown due to a conflict with her colleague Rachel Riley, writes The Sun. TV presenters quarreled a few months ago, but could not make peace.
The 77-year-old Robinson appeared on the Countdown show less than a year ago, in June 2021. She became the first woman in this lineage to replace Nick Heuer. Anne stated that she was leaving the Channel 4 quiz with positive emotions, despite the conflict.
"I've had a blast hosting this wonderful show. I hope too I've encouraged TV bosses to realize that not all women at the wrong end of their seventies are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks," she said.
