Archaeologists have uncovered a rare 1300-year-old ship that can be destroyed by oxygen

Rare shipwreck was found in France, it’s 1300-years old

Archeologists in France have found a very rare yet fragile shipwreck in France that can be1,300 years old.

The French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (Inrap) revealed the 12-meter (40-foot) boat to the public this week in Villenave-d'Ornon on the banks of the Garonne in southwest France, according to NBC News.

The ancient wood is very sensitive to oxygen and could be destroyed immediately that“s why the workers "are watering" the partial remains of the wreck "every 30 minutes" as they aim to "limit the degradation of the wood."

This is "especially" important at the moment as southwest France experiences a heatwave.
