Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney have explained how they formed The Black Keys. They had to drop out of college and make a living washing dishes at a restaurant in order to start making art.
They said they had no backup plan in case they didn't succeed musically. They recorded their debut album in Ohio in a rat-infested basement. Luckily, the guys coped with all the hardships and didn't go back to college.
That's what their new album Dropout Boogie is all about. The songs on this record are about young people, poor but enthusiastic, The Sun writes.
