Deborah James raises £1M after reporting she has stopped cancer treatment
The day before, she was transferred to a home hospice.

Deborah James' foundation raised over £1,000,000 in 24 hours following her announcement that she was now in hospice. On May 9, Deborah posted on her social media that her treatment for bowel cancer had been discontinued because it hadn't worked.

The host of You, Me And The Big C told subscribers that she does not know how much she has left. The treatment has now been discontinued and care is focused on her comfort. This post looked like a farewell message, and, apparently, stimulated a huge wave of donations.

Unfortunately, Deborah's cancer was incurable. All funds raised will go towards funding clinical trials and research into personalized medicine that could lead to new treatments for cancer patients, Metro informs.
