Elisabeth Moss asked to be 'not distracted' by her connection to Scientology

The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss told The New Yorker that people shouldn't be "distracted" by her connection to Scientology when they see the actress on screen. Moss encouraged people to find out about the Church of Scientology for themselves if they were interested.
The 39-year-old actress added that she is completely open about religion, she does not hide her connection with Scientology, but at the same time she is not a public preacher or a missionary for her Church.
Moss also thinks it doesn't feel good when actors talk too much about their personal lives. Then, in her opinion, the audience is distracted from the images of the characters on the screen and see not the heroes of the film, but the actors themselves.
"If you and I met, just hanging out as friends, I'm, like, an open book about it. I don't want people to be distracted by something when they're watching me. I want them to be seeing the character," the actress explained.
