'I don't know if it has scarred me': Liam Neeson admits violent childhood shaped his character
He is still trying to come to terms with it.
Liam Neeson is 'still coming to terms' with memories of abusive childhood. He told AARP The Magazine that it's "kind of post-traumatic stress disorder" for him.
Neeson explained that when he was little, he constantly heard a drunken neighbor beating his wife. All these events took place 50 years ago, the neighbor is long dead, but the effect of the injury is still catching up with Liam.
"I don't know if it has scarred me, but it has definitely formed something of my character. Maybe you're right—maybe even when I play these roles, I'm trying to bring some quality of redemption or justice, " he said.
