Jessica Alba joins board of Yahoo as part of a management update
Legendary internet brand Yahoo decided to upgrade its management in its 30s by adding six new members to the private company's board, including popular actress and entrepreneur Jessica Alba.
Yahoo was sold last year for $5 billion to private equity firm Apollo Group. Yahoo's owner, Verizon Media, retained a 10% stake. The company has hired Jim Lanzone, a former Tinder and CBS executive, as CEO.
“As we enter into a new era of Yahoo, establishing a powerful board of directors with strategic knowledge of diverse industries will drive greater growth, innovation, and scale,” Lanzone said in an announcement, reported Variety. “The intersection of media, tech, product, and content is more relevant than ever and this board represents the best minds in those categories.”
