The director has not yet disclosed the sequel's script.

Todd Phillips has confirmed that he is working on a sequel to the acclaimed 2019 film Joker. He posted on his social media accounts a cover of the script in red with the title "Joker: Folie à Deux" and a shot from the first film.

The cover also identifies the authors of the script as Phillips and Scott Silver, who also wrote the script for the first part. It is assumed that the role of Joker will be played by Joaquin Phoenix again. The official Warner Bros. account shared Phillips' post on its Twitter feed.

According to NYP, Todd Phillips has not yet disclosed details or a release date for the sequel, but the title of the upcoming film may suggest that the Joker will have an accomplice. Following the general logic of the franchise, that sidekick should be Harley Quinn.
