The judge ruled against actor who had sought to bar his ex-wife from claiming immunity.
Johnny Depp took major loss before of his $100 million defamation trial against Amber Heard. Actor tried to sought to bar his ex-wife’s lawyers from claiming immunity.
Heard wrote a piece about domestic violence for Washington Post in 2018. After that Johnny Depp sued for libel in Virginia.
The judge Penney Azcarate ruled against actor. She said editorial of actress deals with a matter of public interest. According to The Guardian, Amber Heard can argue to a jury that she should be protected from a libel lawsuit.
