Kristin Chenoweth almost became a 1977 Girl Scout murder victim

Kristin Chenoweth, 53, revealed that she nearly became a murder victim of a maniac in a high-profile 1977 case. She talked about it in the trailer for Keeper of the Ashes: The Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders.

Chenoweth said she was going to visit that camp where three young girl scouts were raped and murdered.

"It's a story I wish I'd never told. It haunts me every day. But this story needs to be told," she told NYP.

It turned out that Kristin was supposed to go to that camp, but she got sick, so her mother wouldn't let her go. But for her illness, Chenoweth might have been one of the victims of the maniac who murdered 8- to 10-year-old girls in June 1977.

By the way, the killer was apprehended but acquitted two years later, and a few months later he died in prison while serving a sentence for another crime.
