Netflix's Marilyn Monroe movie rated NC-17 for sexual content
The biopic will show the rape scene that was in the original novel.
Netflix film about Marilyn Monroe received a rare NC-17 rating for sexual content. The MPAA has given Ana de Armas' Blonde an adult-only rating.
Director Andrew Dominick predicted that the film would receive an NC-17. He also added that Netflix "insisted" on hiring editor Jennifer Lame (Tenet), who "smoothed out" the rape scene.
Blonde is based on Joyce Carol Oates' novel, although some of the Monroe passages in the book are fictitious, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
