The Duke of Cambridge after their trip expressed his “profound sorrow” over the slave trade and praised the “determination, courage and fortitude” of the Jamaican people.
The royal family knows the history and the influence of England on the Caribbean, but during the visit they saw protests and real people. These events affected them. Locals and the native Q'eqchi Maya did not allow the royal family to come to their farm during the visit, writes Cosmopolitan.
