Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said the Queen and Prince Charles' joint monarchy is a calculated PR strategy. In her opinion, this will allow the British to get used to "King Charles" more easily, writes Insider.
Charles currently stands in for the Queen in public appearances, including the Royal Maundy service. It will also protect Princes Andrew and Harry from being government advisers.
"We have effectively a co-monarchy for the first time since William and Mary arrived in 1689," the source said.
