'She's grieving': Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 96th birthday without guests, with her corgis
It became a tribute to her late husband Philip.
Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 96th birthday alone at Sandringham Manor. Of course, she is not completely alone - she is surrounded by courtiers, as well as her beloved corgis.
According to USM, this may be a tribute to her late husband, Prince Philip, who died on the same country estate in April 2021.
"She's grieving the loss of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, and spent the day with her corgis. Prince Philip's passing has hit the queen harder than expected, but she's remaining calm and collected," a palace source said.
