Skylar Grey, songwriter for Rihanna, Eminem and Diddy, sold her song catalog to pay for divorce

Sometimes the only way out is to give up everything.

The author of songs for such stars as Eminem and Rihanna, Diddy, Zedd and Foxes and so on no longer reaps financial royalties for the songs, which have collectively sold millions of copies.

Now Skylar Grey was forced to sell her entire music catalog in order to pay for devorce.

"This past year, 2021, we finally resolved [the divorce], settled, I had to sell my catalog in order to afford the settlement, which was very sad in a way, because those songs like 'Love The Way You Lie' and 'Coming Home,' those are my babies," Grey, 36, told the Variety.

"But at the same time, nobody can tell me I didn't write those songs just 'cause I don't own the rights to them anymore," she continued. "I didn't want to sell them, but it was my only way to put the past behind me…"
