Brittney Griner's arrest in Russia was extended by one month
The basketball player was detained for carrying cannabis oil that was banned there.
WNBA star Brittney Griner continues to be held in pre-trial detention in Russia and has been extended for another month. Her attorney said that Griner has no complaints about the conditions of her detention in Moscow.
Brittney, who plays for the Russian basketball team, was arrested at Sheremetyevo airport. She was found to have e-cigarette cartridges containing cannabis oil, which is illegal in Russia because it is considered a banned drug under local law.
If found guilty, the athlete faces up to 10 years in a Russian prison. According to E!Online, U.S. authorities say they will do everything possible to protect their citizen.
