Judge denies Johnny Depp's motion to dismiss counterclaim from Amber Heard
The actor's lawyers insisted that the $100m lawsuit is inherently untenable.
A judge denied a motion by Johnny Depp's lawyers to dismiss Amber Heard's counterclaim. Heard is seeking $100 million, claiming Depp discredited her by calling her allegations of domestic violence as "fake" and "hoax."
The day before, Herd's team postponed its defense of the case. Depp's lawyers have since advocated that the actress' countersuit be dismissed. His lawyer stated that Amber Heard's lawsuit cannot be directly related to previous statements made by another Depp lawyer in 2020.
