Eurovision in 2023 could be held in the UK, although in 2022 the contest was won by Ukraine

Eurovision in 2023 could be transferred from Ukraine to the UK
The reason for this was the military action in the country, which has not yet ended.

Eurovision bosses say that the question of a possible transfer of the venue of the music contest from Ukraine to the UK is now being decided. At the moment, the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest are in talks with the BBC.

The European Broadcasting Union believes that the contest cannot be held in a country where military operations are taking place. Given that no one can predict the date of the end of the fighting, there is a risk of disruption of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.

The Ukrainian composition Kalush Orchestra won the contest in Turin, Italy, in May of this year, and traditionally the winning country hosts the event next year. However, it is now impossible to guarantee the safety and economic feasibility of the contest in Ukraine.

UK became a candidate to host the contest because a contestant from there took second place, writes Mirror.
