Academy to rule on 'possible sanctions' for Will Smith soon
The Academy's Board of Governors will meet on April 8 instead of April 18.
The Academy has decided to expedite the process of "sentencing" Will Smith. the Academy's Board of Governors will meet this Friday instead of April 18 as previously planned.
"It is in the best interest of all involved for this to be handled in a timely fashion," said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President David Rubin.
According to People, the Academy's Board of Governors will discuss "possible sanctions" for Smith, 53, who won the Best Actor award on March 27. Since he has already officially left the Academy, "suspension or expulsion is no longer possible."
