The Academy tried to kick Will Smith out after Chris Rock slap at Oscars
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences speaks out about scandal with Will Smith and Chris Rock. It finds out they tried to kick actor out after slap incident. But Will Smith refused and went for his Oscar.
"Things unfolded in a way we could not have anticipated. While we would like to clarify that Mr. Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently," the Academy wrote in the letter.
According to TMZ, David Rubin, the President of the Academy, and Dawn Hudson, the CEO told Will Smith to leave. They were "furious" but couldn’t make actor quit. Board of Governors has begun disciplinary proceedings on Will Smith.
