Benedict Cumberbatch wanted to take a pseudonym
The actor almost decided to do it, but then changed his mind.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he originally wanted to use "Ben Carlton" as his stage name. The actor admitted that he wanted to change his name as he found "Cumberbatch" a bit cumbersome, per Buzzfeed.
"My slightly more sensible agents went, 'You've got a great surname, why are you calling yourself by your middle name? I don't know any actors called Cumberbatch,'" he explained.
The actor changed his mind because the agents recommended to leave his real name. They assured that this one will definitely be remembered and will not leave fans indifferent.
