Screenwriter and director Paul Haggis has been arrested in Italy for sexual assault. He wrote the screenplay for the Oscar-winning films, Million Dollar Baby, Crash, and more.

The screenwriter's lawyer says that under Italian law, she is not allowed to disclose details of the criminal case. However, she is confident that her client is innocent and willing to cooperate with the authorities, so all charges will eventually be dropped.

The local press claims that Haggis forced an unknown woman to have sex with him for 2 days, TMZ writes.
