'Happy Birthday, Mr. President': Kim Kardashian wore a REAL legendary Marilyn Monroe dress at the Met Gala
Kim Kardashian came to the red carpet at the Met Gala in a recognizable transparent beaded dress. At first, experts decided that it was a recreated Jean Louis dress that Monroe wore in 1962 when she sang "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden.
But it turned out that it was not a restored copy, but a real Monroe dress.
Kardashian wore the dress only on the red carpet. She put on the historical dress in a special dressing room next to the red carpet, and inside she changed into an exact replica. The reality TV star has already admitted that she had to go on a strict diet to fit into Monroe's original thin dress.
''I am so honored to be wearing the iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy. It is a stunning skintight gown adorned with more than 6,000 hand-sewn crystals by costumier Jean Louis,'' she said on the social network.
