'I was nonchalant': Tom Felton told why he got the role in Harry Potter
Tom Felton talked about auditioning for the role of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter. During the casting, the actor changed his hair color several times. The fact is that Felton auditioned for the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.
But in the end, the director decided in his own way. Now the actor is sure that he got the role of Malfoy because he was "nonchalant".
''I reckon I got the part because I was nonchalant. And had no idea what anyone was on about. Wizards in cupboards under the stairs? And with three older brothers, you learn to be confident quickly. I think Chris Columbus, the director, recognised this slight disinterest and arrogance in me, which he thought could work for Malfoy.'' Felton says in an interview with the Guardian.
