Jim Carrey buys his first NFT for $40K and his choice is surprising
The actor now has a very expensive photo of an abandoned Soviet sanatorium.
Jim Carrey has now also become a celebrity with a piece of modern art in the form of NFT photography. He purchased his first digital image for $40,000, and his choice is strikingly unusual.
Carrey, 60, bought an NFT called Devotion, part of a series of 13 photographs by artists Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell that captured abandoned buildings from the Soviet Union. The NFT image, now owned by Jim, depicts an abandoned Soviet sanatorium located in Georgia.
"This one stops me. James Joyce said that's a good thing. Thank you @ryankoopmans for gently capturing nature's exquisite and relentless reinvention. BTW you're my first NFT," Carrey tweeted.
