Julia Haart reveals how she was detained at JFK and confiscated $153,000 of her clothes
Julia Haart told how in 2020 she was detained at John F. Kennedy Airport. The fashion designer and author was returning from Paris Fashion Week with a lot of expensive designer clothes and accessories, writes Page Six.
Haart recalled that US Customs and Border Protection was interested in her luggage, which consisted of new luxury brand items worth $153,000. In total, she carried 37 items of clothing and accessories, including Louis Vuitton bags worth $21,000 and $26,000.
There were no tags on the clothes, but customs confiscated them anyway, since Julia did not declare this luggage. Later, she redeemed her luggage, in fact, spending twice on French shopping.
