Mattel has released its first transgender Barbie doll. The company was inspired by Laverne Cox - Mattel looks exactly like her new doll.

The transgender Barbie was part of Mattel's Tribute collection, which recently included a Barbie doll, a replica of Elizabeth II, which is being sold to celebrate the Queen's two anniversaries. The Barbie as Laverne Cox is dressed in a beautiful red dress with a puffy skirt.

"I can't wait for fans to find my doll on shelves and have the opportunity to add a Barbie doll modeled after a transgender person to their collection. I can't believe it. I love her outfit," the actress told Page Six.
