Monica Lewinsky criticized the increased attention to Depp's lawsuit against Heard
She admitted that she herself has succumbed to the consumption of this "content".
Monica Lewinsky said in her column for Vanity Fair that "we are all guilty" that the whole of America and the world has turned Johnny Depp's trial with Amber Heard into something like a reality show. She even called the defamation case between the ex-spouses "courtroom porn".
She admitted that she herself succumbed to the "fascination" of the process, video clips of which have spread on social networks.
"We are drenched in the taint of the dirt and aggression of the social media wars. It's like going to the opera and reading a couple of translated supertitles but not understanding Italian. Our consumption, therefore, has tended to be biased, curated, and cursory," Lewinsky wrote.
