Spielberg said that he came up with a story, but he needed a writer who could write it. It was in Tunisia on the set of a movie about Indiana Jones.
And then Harrison Ford arrived on the set with his girlfriend Melissa Matheson, a screenwriter. At first she refused, but then changed her mind, per Hollywoodreporter.
Spielberg said, ''I told her the story again and she got really emotional and she committed right there in the Tunisian desert.''
