The director couldn't find censorious words for it.

Tim Burton spoke out about the nipples being added to the Batman costume after he stopped making movies of the franchise. The director recalled that producers thought Tim was making the Gotham hero movies too dark.

In his new interview, Burton said he didn't like it at all when a pair of nipples were added to the Batman suit. The nipples appeared on the armor of Batman, played by Val Kilmer in 1995.

"Wait a minute. Okay. Hold on a second here. You complain about me, I'm too weird, I'm too dark, and then you put nipples on the costume? Go f*** yourself," People quotes Tim Burton.
