The new movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which has just premiered, has a new character, America Chavez. She will play a key role in the development of the plot, as she has unique abilities, writes Insider.

For those of you who haven't watched Marvel's latest, spoilers ahead. America Chavez has not previously appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, her role was played by 16-year-old actress Xochitl Gomez. Chavez has the ability to jump across the multiverse through the portals she creates.

Also, America is the first LGBTQ superhero in the MCU. Due to her ability, which she has not yet fully mastered, Chavez will greatly influence Strange's actions and the plot of the film.
