The rover made its spectacular landing last year.

The six-wheeled rover Perseverance begins his way up on an ancient delta feature which is located in the crater. In this Jezero crater the rover landed in February 2021.

It will roll uphill, stopping every so often to examine rocks that look to have the best chance of retaining evidence of past life on the planet.

This is one of the most important goals for NASA’s rover. On the way back it should collect some samples to research them later.

The goal is to bring this material back to Earth in the 2030s for detailed inspection, BBC informs.
