Prince Charles replaced the Queen Elizabeth II for the first time during the State Opening of Parliament. He sat by The Imperial State Crown with Prince Charles and Camilla.

The Prince of Wales read out the agenda from a throne. The Queen usually says, "My government will," but Charles announced, "Her majesty’s government will."

The world’s oldest and longest-reigning monarch skipped the event for the third time in her life. She did it because of pregnancy, The Globe and Mail reported.
